It’s certainly a handsome netbook, and has all the style and quality you’d associate with Acer, whose Aspire One range of netbooks has always had a good reputation among those who know computers. And it’s available in three stunning colours – gleaming black, brilliant sapphire blue or glowing ruby red.

Powered by the Intel Atom Z520 processor, this netbook is no slouch, and the by now obligatory 160 Gigabytes of fast hard disk means that you’ll not run out of space for carrying around your MP3s or your episodes of Torchwood.

Connectability is wifi standard of course, and it’s nice to see that the Aspire One 751 comes kitted out with bluetooth to make communicating with other mobile devices that little bit easier. And the Acer comes complete with Windows XP Home, an operating system you’ll know already.

The WXGA display is huge, definitely widescreen, and at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, this 11.6 inch Crystal Brite high brightness screen complements the powerful surround sound stereo speakers to make this a true media centre netbook.

There’s a built in quality webcam and digital mic as you’d expect, and the 3 x USB 2 ports mean that connecting an external hard disk drive, or USB mouse is a breeze. This particular netbook is not cheap with a recommended retail price of over £300, but for its size and Acer quality, it’s a good value netbook.
