This Acer netbook, big brother to the A150L, boasts a 10.1 inch display against the A150L’s 8.9 inch screen, and a slightly bigger body. It has 160 Gigabytes of hard disk as standard so you can store thousands of MP3s and hundreds of videos without resorting to an external hard disk drive.
The 10.1 inch display is pleasingly bright, and with a resolution of 1024 x 600 will handle most things you throw at it. Movies look good and detailed, and even in sunlight the screen has good visibility.
Battery life is around 3 hours of normal use, and an extended battery pack can be had for about £80 if you’re going to be away from a socket for longer than this.
This little Acer is good to use, comes with Windows XP Home and has the normal connectivity you’d expect of a netbooks these days - 3 x USB 2 ports, 802.11bg wireless technology built in, and a multi-card reader for transferring pictures and videos from your digital camera if you want to view them straight away.
Acer netbooks come with the solid Acer build and the Acer reputation for quality, so if you’re looking for a great netbook by a dependable manufacturer, then this could be just the netbook for you.
