The Advent 4214 is cheaper than you’d expect, but you get a huge 160 Gigabytes of internal hard disk, wifi as standard, a multi card reader for moving those snaps or videos from your digital camera, and three USB 2 ports for connecting external hard disk drives, powerful external speakers or anything else you can think of. And most things come with USB 2 connectivity these days.

Complete with Windows XP Home and a quality built in camera, microphone and speakers, this netbook gives you a lot of bang for your buck and its connectivity and performance are up there with that of any top end netbook.

A thing I like about it is that the 10.2 inch screen has a matt finish – while a lot of today’s netbooks are opting for the glossy finish that can affect visibility in sunlight. And gives all the detail you’ll need when watching the episodes of Torchwood you’ll be taking on holiday with you. And I find that the Advent 4214′s touchpad is a dream to use – quite an important feature when you do a lot of detailed mousework.

So if you’re looking for a premium netbook that doesn’t sacrifice style for performance, the Advent 4214 is well worth a look.
