Amazing netbook speakers

Have you ever thought of adding some speakers to your netbook to use  at home?

When I first got my Samsung NC10 netbook, I was so pleased with the sound quality - and surprised too I guess - that it never occurred to me to try some external speakers. Then one evening I was round at my friend Rob’s place and his gf was playing an old Bon Jovi track she’d found. Yes I know, Bon Jovi, but then that’s gf’s for you!

Anyway, I thought it was on his main stereo - 4 foot bass enclosures and all - till I noticed the youtube video on his little netbook  and Bon Jovi was singing along! Rob was getting magnificent detailed sound and thumping bass, all from a netbook.

Now I know the Acer A150 is a cracking little computer, but I’ve always though the Samsung had it beat for sound. But nothing like that ever came out of my Samsung netbook, that’s for sure.

Well of course I had to find out the secret, and there it was in the smallest loudspeaker setup you’ve ever seen.

The pic of the little netbook speaker is a third life size - they’re about 20 cm tall and they just blend in with the desk they’re on. The subwoofer box - and that’s only a 20 cm cube itself, was stuffed away behind the sofa so you couldn’t see it at all. And this was putting out bass like you’ve never heard.

The twin speakers gave out amazingly detailed high and mid range notes and the great thing about subwoofers - the things that produce the bass notes - is that you can put them anywhere out of sight and they still sound as good. It’s only the high/mid range speakers you need to have in view.

Anyway, here’s the Youtube video it was playing - try it out on your netbook and see what you think. And if you’re pleased with it, then you won’t be once you’ve heard it through the Logitech Z4 speaker system. Yes of course for everyday use and travelling, your netbook speakers will do a good job, especially if it’s something like a Samsung NC10 or Acer Aspire One, but to enjoy your music and vids at their best in the comfort of your own home, then this brilliant little speaker setup, which cost Rob under £50, is a must.

Rob bought his netbook speakers from Amazon who were giving the best deal on netbook speakers at the time, and they still are! Good work Amazon.
