Cheap netbooks now 20% of laptop market

Information Week, America’s business bible, has just published figures that show worldwide netbook sales in Quarter 1 2009 of 6 million. Yes, 6 million people bought cheap netbooks rather than paying out for the bigger laptops.

That equates to about 20% of the total market for portable PCs, and signs are that this percentage is on the way up.

And not surprisingly, Acer grabbed a full third of this market with their great range of cheap netbook computers. So if you’re about to treat yourself to a netbook from the Acer range, you’re in good company.

It’s easy to see why Acer netbooks are so popular, offering that flawless Acer build, good performance and solid, fast storage as well as their crystal clear displays.

But we here at http://www.cheap-netbooks.org.uk we think that the Samsung NC10 netbook just has the edge over the Acer range by virtue of its superior keyboard while sacrificing nothing in the build stakes. In fact we’re so convinced that the Samsung NC10 is the best all round netbook computer (though admittedly not the cheapest), it’s our recommendation for Seniors looking to move on to portable computing.

The NC10 is light and easy to carry, has a 7 hour battery life  and is so easy to use that my own Gran has one to keep her in touch with the net while she’s out at the Bingo!

You can’t go wrong with an Acer netbook, but you might look at the Samsung NC10 first and see if you don’t agree with us (and my gran) that it’s better.
