Well if you know any students – or you’re a student yourself, you’ll certainly know all about cheap ebook readers (aka ereaders).

An ebook reader is a small electronic device about the size of a thin paperback book. It has an “eink” screen, which looks very like paper and has no backlight. No backlight equals no eyestrain, so with an ebook reader you can read for hours at a time with no problem. And even compared with the very best netbook displays like the Samsung NC10 or Samsung N110 netbook (our recommended netbook for students) it’s just easier on the eye. It can’t do movies or vids though, which is what your cheap netbook is for!

An ebook reader is so small you can pop it in your pocket, and because electronic books (ebooks) are tiny compared with MP3s, you can hold thousands of ebooks on an ereader using a standard SD card like in your camera.

Plug the ereader into the USB port on your Samsung N110, upload your coursebooks, dictionaries or even the latest Harry Potter, and you’re laughing. And because it only uses power when turning pages or searching your books rather than reading, the battery in your ebook reader needs charging weekly rather than every few hours.

We say it’s a matter of using the right tools for the job. Watch movies, listen to music, surf the net and keep in touch using your netbook. But do your reading on your ebook reader.  All the students I know do, and your eyes will thank you.

And even better, we’ve found the cheapest place on the net for the famous Sony ebook reader, where you can get your hands on it for under £150. They usually go for nearly £200, so that’s a bargain.

And if you get one now, you’ll be well prepared in time for back to school – or back to college! Check it out on the link below.
