So at last the kings of the mobile phone, Nokia, have decided to enter the netbook market. It does seem that they’re trying to blur the boundaries between 3G mobile/PDA/netbook, and indeed it’s often hard to say where onecategory stops and another starts.
Nokia are calling their new Nokia netbook the Booklet, whcih is rather charming, and are bringing some of the features of their top of the range mobile phones to bear in their new netbook. Built in GPS for example will be standard, and there’s an HDMI out socket for high definition output so you can play your high def vids and movies on your HD TV.
The Nokia Booklet netbook will be powered by the Intel Atom processor, like other netbooks, and comes with a 10 inch display. The aluminium casing looks very swish and streamlined and this will not be a cheap netbook. Prices and availabilty aren’t clear yet, but don’t expect the Booklet to be cheap. Netbooks come in all designs and price ranges to appeal to different markets, and this looks to be aimed at the high end business user where cost is no object. More will become clear about the Nokia Booklet netbook over the coming weeks.
But as far as I am concerned, they will have to go a long way to beat one of our recommended netbooks for function, facilities and above all, value. Cheap netbooks are our passion, and our recommended netbook is still the Samsung NC10 netbook. We’ll compare this with the Nokia Booklet in due course when we can get our hands on one of the Nokias. But meanwhile, check out the NC10 and what a great all rounder it is, as well as one of the best looking most stylish netbooks around. And here at cheap netbooks, we check prices all the time, so have a look now and see how cheap you can get this fabulous netbook. You won’t be able to resist!
