Review of HP mini netbook

A great cheap netbook for touch typists.
This glossy black netbook is a joy to handle. With one of the best keyboards I’ve come across in a netbook – or for that matter in a laptop – I was happy to type on this great little machine for hours at a time and still come out the other end refreshed.
The screen was a pleasant surprise, with its great 1024×600 resolution, and after watching a couple of movies on it I can confirm that it’s a great multimedia netbook as well. The stereo speakers are cleverly hidden in the netbook’s hinge, so out of sight but perfectly placed for great sound. And of course there’s a headphone socket if you prefer to listen to your music or movies in private.
The webcam isn’t the most detailed I’ve seen, but fine for Skype calls and teleconferencing and everybody I spoke to over the HP mini was quite satisfied with the way I looked! And the sound over the built in mike is good too.
The HP mini 1000 netbook comes complete with Windows XP and its Intel Atom processor will run all the usual applications with an impressive speed, and I worked on some of my larger spreadsheets quite happily.
So if you want a great screen and a superb keyboard, you won’t go wrong with the HP mini 1000 netbook.
