With its non-glare screen and big hard disk, this netbook is a must-have for keeping in touch on the move.
This thoroughbred netbook from the Fujitsu laptop stable can be customised with brilliant clip on covers in a great range of colours from orange to pink, red and blue. So as well as one of the best small netbooks you can buy, it lets you make a style statement.
Its crystal clear high definition display is non-glare, so you’ll be amazed at the detail it shows even in the brightest daylight.
Weighing in at under a kilo, this is one of the lightest netbooks around, but the Fujitsu boasts a tremendous battery life of four hours – more than most of its competitors. So you can keep working or keep in touch for so much longer.
And keeping in touch is what this cracking little laptop excels at. A digital array microphone, stereo speakers and a great 1.3 Megapixel video camera built in mean that you can see and talk to your friends and loved ones to your heart’s content with Skype or Messenger.
The massive 250GB hard disk will store hours of video, thousands of photos and thousands of tracks of your favourite sounds, so the Fujitsu netbook is a true multimedia computer. The Fujitsu Amilo is a netbook for the connoisseur.

A great cheap netbook for touch typists.
This glossy black netbook is a joy to handle. With one of the best keyboards I’ve come across in a netbook – or for that matter in a laptop – I was happy to type on this great little machine for hours at a time and still come out the other end refreshed.
The screen was a pleasant surprise, with its great 1024×600 resolution, and after watching a couple of movies on it I can confirm that it’s a great multimedia netbook as well. The stereo speakers are cleverly hidden in the netbook’s hinge, so out of sight but perfectly placed for great sound. And of course there’s a headphone socket if you prefer to listen to your music or movies in private.
The webcam isn’t the most detailed I’ve seen, but fine for Skype calls and teleconferencing and everybody I spoke to over the HP mini was quite satisfied with the way I looked! And the sound over the built in mike is good too.
The HP mini 1000 netbook comes complete with Windows XP and its Intel Atom processor will run all the usual applications with an impressive speed, and I worked on some of my larger spreadsheets quite happily.
So if you want a great screen and a superb keyboard, you won’t go wrong with the HP mini 1000 netbook.
